Gather The Village: Australia

I was in the shops the other day trying to unload my groceries with one hand while holding Frankie with the other. Lost in my world of "quick, quick, get it done, you're annoying the other customers!!" Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed the woman behind me with her four little chicks running around her. She smiled at me, put her hand on my shoulder and said "Slow down, mama. I hope you're not rushing for me." Right there in between the check out counter and the stand of tomatoes I realised the mother's village in this place was strong. I lifted my gaze and took in the whole shop and saw that it was filled with mothers and their strollers and their crying toddlers and their hands taken up with even tinier hands asking for attention. We were all rushing.
For what?

@sulphurcrested, @thevillagemagazine & I have spent the last few weeks creating a special night just for you. For the mother who is tired of being tired, the stranger who is craving a couple of hours to share her story with other strangers who are JUST.LIKE.HER and for the woman who is looking for her village. The same village I found in the middle of the grocery store on a random Tuesday.
We invite you to join us for a night of slowing down. A night of shaking off the dust and the stress and letting our shoulders hang. A night where we put our children to bed and gather the village to sit under the summer stars with good food and good conversation.

December 4th from 6:30pm in Lilydale, Victoria. I can't wait to meet you.
